This paper considers the issue of introducing design modifications to the
impeller of the 10GR8L slurry pump. In the original design, the impeller was
manufactured as a single-piece (monolithic) cast component, whereas the proposed
solution divides it into two separate parts: a main disc and a cover disc. The
advantages of this design approach are analyzed in terms of simplifying
manufacturing technology, improving pump maintenance convenience, and
extending service life. The technical and economic efficiency of the proposed solution
is substantiated.
