This article addresses the development of a Quality Management
System (QMS) to prepare a testing laboratory for accreditation in compliance with
the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017. A GAP analysis established the
laboratory's initial conformity level at 50%, after which a four-stage QMS model was
proposed that elevated conformity to 91%. The model encompasses documentation
system formation, personnel competency assessment, metrological support of
measuring equipment and internal audit implementation. The research findings
provide a practical roadmap for testing laboratories in the Republic of Uzbekistan
seeking accreditation.
