Abstract

The article explores the development of polymer composite materials for the reservoirs of chemical treatment machines used in cotton cultivation. Since chemical protection against pests, diseases, and weeds is essential for increasing cotton yield, the use of chemically stable and durable materials in agricultural machinery becomes crucial. The study investigates various polyethylene grades (LDPE, HDPE, MDPE) and their composites modified with fillers such as kaolin, graphite, carbon black, and talc.

Experimental results show that fillers form adhesion bonds with the polymer matrix, significantly improving the material’s elastic modulus, hardness, impact toughness, and tensile strength. The most optimal physical-mechanical properties were obtained when 10–30 wt% of fillers were added. The proposed polyolefin-based compositions demonstrate high technological suitability and operational stability for rotational molding of reservoirs.

The research confirms that the developed composite materials can be effectively used in manufacturing reservoirs for chemical treatment machines in cotton production, ensuring improved durability, chemical resistance, and reliability
